A very happy day to all!!
Today I am going to review Maybelline Dream Matt Mousse Foundation in Pure Beige. This is a nice mousse from our very famous drug store brand – Maybelline.
I first tried this foundation at some outlet but didn’t like this much. But then, someone gifted this to me and so, I had to use it as I don’t waste my cosmetic products J.
This dream matt mousse is said to be air soft and non comedogenic , so, won’t clog pores and hence good for oily skin. I also find it a good one for oily skin and may not suit dry skinnies.
Application is a bit tricky. First, it comes in a jar and hence, taking out the product is a little messy. Those who don’t want to dip fingers in their products may have to use either some sponge or a good quality foundation brush. I normally use my MAC foundation brush. Just take a little amount of mousse onto the brush and apply it lightly. Too much would create a cakey look and leaves a whitish cast. Beware gals!!
Coverage and Finish –
According to me, you can get a medium coverage with this one as you can’t build layers with this mousse as that makes it look unnatural. Also, it doesn’t help much with scars and dark circles. But as it claims, the finish is matt. And when the right amount is applied, it is very light on skin and looks natural.
What I feel –
I find it quite good in summers for a light touch for daily office use. In winters, it should be accompanied with some moisturizer even for oily skin. For dry skin, a complete no no. I would suggest to first use some primer or some good under base before applying this foundation. That way, it looks more even and not patchy and blends easily. On its own, it may become a disaster. And you may start unliking it totally. So try to use it in best possible way. It works and is not that bad as I have read many negative reviews of this one J.
It keeps my skin oil free in summers for almost 3 hours that is ok with me. After that, we can dab some pressed powder.
Actually, what I feel is, it suits some fairer tones well as it doesn’t look that good on me (my pic here) as on my sister Ritcha who is much fairer than me as you can see here. I was never in favour of buying it while she likes it a lot for summers.
This is an ok daily foundation and a little goes a long way. Choose the colour wisely or skip it if you don’t find a good match. It easily leaves a white cast.
