How To Get Rid Of Bad Breath – Natural Ways

Who doesn’t love to smile!! Your smile is priceless and so are your teeth and breath!! I may sound weird but isn’t it so!! Of course everybody loves smile, but have you ever thought about well being of your teeth! There are many who are not even aware of many diseases related to teeth or breath and have been avoiding these for long.

Are you facing persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth! Then it may be warning signs of gum disease, also known as periodontal disease. Periodontal disease or bad breath is caused by the buildup of plaque (the bacteria which causes toxins to form in the mouth, as a result irritate the gums) on teeth, poorly fitting dental appliances and yeast infections of the mouth. Pay attention to these little things before they get worrisome. Remember, if gum disease continues untreated, it may damage your gums and jawbone and that’s going to be drastic.

One of the other causes of bad breath is the medical condition xerostomia, also known as dry mouth. Side effects of various medications and continuous breathing through the mouth, may be the reason behind this. Salivary gland problems may result in dry mouth. As we all know, saliva is necessary to moisten and cleanse the mouth as it washes away dead cells that accumulate on the tongue and gums. If these are not removed, then these cells may cause bad breath by decomposing. The condition of having stale or foul-smelling breath is also known as Halitosis.

You can cure all these problems upto a great extent by following some simple routines and home remedies:

  • Mix salt and mustard oil, making a paste and massage it onto the gums. While it prevents gum disease and keep away bad breath, it also relieves tooth ache and also tightens the gums.
  • ·         Make a mouthwash by mixing ½ tbspn of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water, use it daily. It is an effective way to get rid bad breath.
    ·         You know acid fruits are very beneficial in stopping the formation of bacteria. So, eat an orange, grapefruit  or lemon, as these will help in fighting bad .
    ·         Drinking a cup of unsweetened black tea daily may help to remove the bacteria  which causes bad breath.
    ·         You can also chew on a small sprig of any herb like parsley, fresh rosemary, cardamom seeds and spearmint for up to a minute to freshen your breath. This is one of the instant quick fix for bad breath. (Parsley leaves are very rich in chlorophyll, which is nature’s own deodorizer).
    ·         Always use a tongue scraper after brushing your teeth and before going to bed. It will help to remove  remaining food particles  and dead cells from the tongue, thus helping in fresh breath.
    ·         Use a mouthwash always after your meals.
    ·         The simplest and the most effective home remedy is to eat apple or guava, which helps to clear the food particles stuck between the teeth and so prevents bacterial activity. Make it a habit to eat any of these after meal.
    ·         Drink plenty of water. Drinking water, juices and other fresh fluids between long intervals of food, which will help to keep your mouth fresh.
    ·         One of the most effective home remedy to cure halitosis is fenugreek tea. Make a tea using fenugreek seeds and intake this once a day on a regular basis.
    ·         Chew cardamom which are also used as mouth fresheners. This is the quickest way to cure a person from bad breath.
    ·         Perform pranayam, while giving other health benefits, deep breaths also help in solving the problem of bad breath.  Perform it for atleast half an hour every day.
    ·         Include fresh vegetables and fruits in your regular diet.
    ·         Rinsing the mouth with baking soda before going to bed, also helps in curing halitosis. Mix a little baking soda in a cup of water and do gargles.
    ·         Add 2 to 3 drops of oil of oregano in the drinking water. Drink it 2-3 times a day. This would help solve the problem of halitosis to a great extent.
    ·         Chewing mint leaves is also beneficial in curing a person who is suffering from bad breath or halitosis.
    ·         Increase in the intake of foods rich in vitamins C and E, like Kiwi, berries, citrus fruits, spinach and broccoli.  These foods would be very helpful in treating bad breath problem.
    ·         It is advisable to brush teeth immediately after consuming food rich in sulfur. As this is the main cause of bad breath.

Above all, it is advisable to have a balanced diet. Have a diet which includes seeds, fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains and juices.

  47. These are some helpful tips you have here. I think that one of the worst things that a person can have is bad breath. It would totally cripple you socially because no one would want to talk to you and it will give you a bad reputation. This will cause you to be very insecure when talking to people because you'll always be worried if your breath smells bad. For some people it is easily resolved by just brushing teeth regularly but for people that have halitosis it is more complicated than that, I hope those people would also find these tips useful.

  48. thank you so much love 🙂
