Firstly, see the cute packaging, it makes my heart happy 🙂 <3
After a long long time, I am trying some pure drugstore brand for my hair. For almost 5-6 years, I have stuck to Matrix, Schwarzkopf, Wella SP or Loreal Professional range to take care of my curly tresses properly.
It’s not like I was not trying any drugstore shampoo or conditioner brand but none worked as per my expectations. I have tried Dove, Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Tresemme but all left my hair in a frizzy state. I got Sunsilk Naturals Recharge Shampoo and Conditioner and I was pretty sure that the combo would not do any good for my curly hair. That’s why I started trying it on a Saturday, so that I will have Sunday to make up for the disaster it would do, before starting for the week again.
Now, I took a decent quantity of shampoo and applied on my scalp and hair. Since, the climate is too hot here now a days, I want a shampoo to cleanse the scalp fully. Did it cleanse well?
Yes.
It lathered and cleansed my hair thoroughly while leaving behind a soft scent. But I felt that my hair were not soft at all and I was dreading a huge mass of hair on my head after they get dry. Now, I took the Sunsilk Naturals Recharge conditioner and took a good quantity of it onto my palm and applied it on the length of my hair. Now, these drug store brand conditioners work too bad for me, worse than those shampoos. I was afraid. Yes.
When I applied the conditioner, I could feel the softness and smoothness of it in my hair. I let it be there for 2-3 minutes and then washed off thoroughly. Voila, my hair were really soft after washing too . No such after shampoo only dryness it was feeling. But the main test still was there – What will happen after drying of hair!!
This is the biggest problem of curly hair. They look good and perfect while semi wet but when they start drying, they start becoming huge, poufy and out of control or you put numerous products to them.
Again, I would say, after a long time, such a reasonable drugstore brand has worked for me. No hell was created even after my hair dried fully. I would not say, frizz was not there or it calmed down the volume. But yes, it really made my hair soft, smooth and fragrant and cleansed them very well. I am liking it so much that for last 3-4 washes, I have used Sunsilk Naturals combo only for my washes.

Cons –
- Fills unwanted air into my hair and makes them poufy but then, it is not specifically for curly hair J.
- It has SLS.
- Not good for curly hair.
Overall Rating –
3.5/5
I have reviewed Sunsilk Naturals as a combo because I didn’t like the feel of my hair after only shampoo. I think this will work as a combo only. Don’t attempt it for curly manes darlings as it doesn’t do any good to keep your curls intact but yes, if you plan to flat iron your hair then, it will be a superb choice. You can try it as it works good and given the cost, it won’t fail you or leave you in a debt 😉 hehehe J
Disclaimer – It’s a PR product. My review is perfectly honest as always J.
Great informative review!
