Hey lovelies 🙂
We have gone through various makeup products. But now something to remove it :).
As I have super oily skin, I don’t risk with different makeup removers available out there in market. And I was in need of a good makeup remover for last so many days. Though I use Cetaphil Skin Cleanser, which is the best face wash I have ever used and have used two variants of it “Cetaphil for Sensitive Skin and Cetaphil for Oily Skin“. It takes care of light makeup fully but if the base is estee lauder double wear and full on eye makeup plus tose matt lip creams we have these days, obviously we can’t expect it to remove that heavy makeup specially eyes and lips. Except this, there is everything positive about this amazing face wash and I have been using it for ages. 🙂
And one more thing forced me to buy this. Whenever I used to do smokey eyes for a party, next day I used to woke up looking like Black Eyed Devil 😀
I have already used “Oriflame 3-in-1 makeup remover“, which was a decent one but now I wanted to try a new one.
What The Site Says –
One product, two functions – Lakmé Absolute Bi-Phased Make-up Remover is a unique formulation where the oil phase lifts off makeup while the water phase refreshes and conditions skin without leaving any stickiness. It effortlessly removes all traces of makeup from the face, leaving the skin feeling fresh and hydrated.
Bi-Phased – Oil and Water
Suitable for Sensitive Eyes
How To Use –
Shake gently to activate the formulation.
Apply on a cotton pad and sweep gently over the make-up in a soft, circular motion.
Wash your face with lukewarm water after removing your make-up, finish with a good moisturizer.
It comes in a very cute aqua color plastic bottle with a nozzle spray. I liked the see through packaging, its makes it easy to keep a track of how much product is left and when do you need to stock up another one 😉
Though it has a plastic cap over the spray nozzle yet the remover spills everytime I use it during travel. So I wouldn’t say its travel friendly. For that purpose I had to buy wipes.
It has little bit oily yet non sticky consistency. As it is a mixture of oil and water, you need to shake it well before use. It is very smooth on skin and removes most of the makeup without much hassle.
My Experience With Lakme Absolute Bi-Phased Makeup Remover –
I purchased this one due to the attractive packaging. It is a mix of water and oil and hence removes all traces of makeup, even waterproof makeup effectively. A good shake and you are good to go. You have to mix the oil and water part completely to effectively use it. Take it on a cotton ball and wipe. I have to take at least 4-5 pumps to get the desired product every single time. I need to repeat it, say at least 3 times to get the product from my face and neck fully. Then one cotton ball for lips and 2 for eyes…woohhhhooooo!!
After using this remover, oily residue is left on face, making it necessary to immediately wash the face with good cleanser. It effectively removes my bestest of makeup base too.
Though I know it is a raved product but for me, it is a bit ineffective in removing intense eye makeup, especially from waterline. You can’t repeat and rub eyes extensively to get the product out. 1-2 light swipes should be enough. For me, it failed in that. My eyes are super sensitive though.
Also, I feel a lot of product is required and I don’t find the pump convenient. The remover goes everywhere from spray and multiple sprays a required to get the cotton ball wet. Overall, for a makeup removal, if you need 5 separate cotton balls, then you need 20 sprays!! My lazy bones don’t find it easy. I prefer Kryolan Makeup remover in every possible way – effectiveness, packaging, all.
Rs. 225 for 60ml.
Aqua, Cyclomethicone, Isohexadecane, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Chloride, Dimethicone, Capryryl/Capryl Glucoside, Glycerin, Fragrance, D panthenol, Di Sodium EDTA, Dipotassium Hydrogen Phosphate, Phenoxyethanol, DMDM Hydantoin and Idopropynyl Butylcarbamate
Oil and water based, hence completely removes makeup.
Great packaging, looks nice.
Has a spray pump dispenser.
Can be used all over face and eyes too.
Causes no breakouts.
If you have oily skin, its a must to use a good face wash after using this.
Not travel friendly.
Doesn’t completely remove eye makeup and stings in my eyes (I have sensitive eyes).
Lots of sprays are required to get the remover on cotton ball, too tiresome.
Overall Rating –
I will try on some other makeup remover next time. Though I found it quite good in removing even waterproof makeup but that oily feeling and the inability to remove extreme eye makeup, is what makes me try some other. But if you are on budget, and are looking for some decently performing makeup remover, then you can surely give this makeup remover from Lakme a try :). A bit of cotton and sprays and you are done.
