Hey friends 🙂
Who all love Greens!! Especially on eyes!!
If you are a green fan then your are at right place today….
Today, I am sharing with you all, a pretty green eye pencil from a very affordable brand – L.A. Colors – Limeade is the name and the colour justifies the name. Yes.
I was eyeing this particular shade since last two years alongwith Tropical Bliss and Vacation but due to one reason or another, I couldn’t get. This last black friday, I finally picked up Limeade from Beauty Joint and here it is :). Though there are 24 shades to choose from!!
Skip the traditional powder eyeshadow and try a jumbo eyeshadow pencil instead. Versatile shadow stick allows you to use as an eyeliner for bold lines or blended for a more subtle effect.
24 shades available.
It is a jumbo pencil, bit thicker, black colored with a transparent plastic cap. The color of pencil is visible through cap and the base of pencil is also of same color. The size and cap quality make it convenient to be carried in purse.
Texture and Stay –
The pencil is creamy and easy to work with. Use it either as eye liner or eyeshadow, works great both ways but eyeliner application is tricky. But if you have oily lids, it smudges. The staying power is good, looks good whole day but smudges a bit on greasy lids.
My Take on it –
These look like NYX Jumbo eye pencils, no!! Bit similar but again, very affordable. At $1.5, it costs around Rs. 100 only. I have tried it both ways, as eyeliner as well as shadow base and I find it better to be used as eye shadow base. It is super creamy and when applied as eye liner, it smudges. Being creamy, it is easy to spread and blend as eyeshadow and being a beautiful colour, it looks superb. For an intense look, just top it up with a matching powder eye shadow, matte or metallic and you will be a happy person.
When you top it up with a powder shadow, it stays intact, doesn’t smudge and keeps on looking wonderful. But then you need to do a lot to make it stay pretty. And we have tons of products these days who are good on their own. NYX jumbo pencils are one such example. When I just swatched it as an eyeliner, it was there all over my lids after only 20 minutes of application. Need I to say I didn’t like that!!
The pencil is well pigmented and smooth. Sharpening is a bit of a work. I would have preferred a roll on pencil.
Being a pretty shade of green, a young, vibrant colour, I will say, you can go for it, not for lining of eyes but yes, for a hint of green, topped up with powder shadow, take it. For girlies with not so oily lids, this is good and the price that it comes at, it won’t harm you anyways. There are so many colours to choose from. Inspite of the fact that I don’t like it much, I will pick 1-2 more shades :P.
Overall Rating –
Contains parabens, smudges as eyeliner, I won’t say this is my best buy but considering the price, I would say, it is not that bad either. You can have it to enjoy pop of colours on your eyes at an affordable price of below Rs. 100. you will enjoy these pretty bright colours.
