A very good day my friends!!
The product under my review lens today is this amazing foundation from MAC called MAC Studio Fix Fluid, in shade NC40. This is the first foundation that I got for myself from MAC. The bottle is almost over now and so, I decided to click it sooner and review it.
What MAC says about Studio Fix Fluid –
A modern foundation that combines a natural matte finish and medium-buildable coverage with broad-spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 15. Comfortable and long-wearing: lasts for up to eight hours. Applies smoothly, builds coverage quickly and easily. Contains specially treated micronized pigments and soft-focus powders for a super-smooth look that helps minimize the appearance of imperfections. Absorbs and disperses oil. Contains special skin-conditioning ingredients.
- Best applied with a M·A·C brush.
- 1 oz.
- By M·A·C.
Shade Choice –
It comes in many shades, almost 35. So, I think everyone can find a match to their complexion easily. Nice yellow tones also available that makes our finding a perfect match easier.
Packaging and Application–
Typical MAC, a sturdy round glass bottle with black cap. No pump provided. Either purchase it separately from Mac or pour the required amount onto your hand and apply with a brush.
Texture and Consistency –
The consistency is good creamy for a foundation. It is not runny and you can get the desired amount easily without wasting any product. A very smooth formula that makes it easier to spread and blend. You don’t get any streaks or white cast.
Rs. 1800/- for 30ml
My take on my MAC Studio Fix Fluid NC40 –
The shade is a perfect match for me and suits me. It is very tough to find the shades that blend into your skin so well. I like this foundation a lot. I usually apply it with fingers but occasionally I use my MAC foundation brush too, for applying it. Both ways, it goes smoothly and gives perfect results.
It provides good coverage too and hides most of the flaws be it some acne marks or any small scars. I would not say fully but it makes them seem less obvious. It provides medium to full coverage, which I like in my foundations/ base. It suits oily skin well and causes no breakouts. It is long lasting and stays on for hours. It is water resistant and doesn’t go with a splash of water. For very oily skinned, you will need some touch ups with compacts or any loose powder, to control oil. For normal skin, it works on its own superbly. No need for extra powder and all that. For dry skinnies, I would advise a proper moisturizing routine so that they don’t feel that dryness. I would say it works for all.
- Gives medium to full coverage and you can build it up easily.
- Gives a smooth matt finish to the skin.
- No white cast or cakey look.
- Stays on for long.
- Controls oil to some extent. Very oily skin gals can go for some compact or loose powder with it.
- No breakouts.
- Lots of shades to choose from.
- Good yellow undertones shades also available.
- It has SPF 15.
- It doesn’t oxidize.
- Expensive. But a little goes a long way.
- No pump provided. At this cost, one should not be expected to purchase a pump separately, that too expensive!!
Overall Rating –
I quite like this foundation as it suits my oily skin very well. I need some loose powder to set it up and control that oil. But its stays on me for full day and it works in hot humid weather too. And it gives that decent coverage that is a must for my base. That I like most about it. Surely I would repurchase it and recommend it.
