Saffron – rings bell..

Then you are on right place at right time :). Read on to know about my miracle product!!
Today, the lovely product on my table top is Iraya Saffron Elixir, a miraculous product for oily skin beauties. Why mention oily skin!!
Oh. We are hearing since years that oily skin beauties need moisturization and hydration just like our dry and normal skin counterparts. But, whatever anybody mentions, I have only found 2-3 products which I can apply on my face and that too in winters only except aloe vera gel from patanjali which I can use whole year round. This is one of those few products which I can use whole year, in summers too. Can I ask for more.
Kumkumadi in a water-based gel, perfect for daily use.
Prescribed in Ayurveda as a ’Miraculous Elixir’ for the skin, saffron elixir is a handy gel based adaptation of Kumkumadi an absolute classic! This revered formulation contains pure Saffron and precious Ayurvedic herbs that have been relied upon through the ages to lighten and brighten the complexion.
Gently massage with fingertips onto clean, moist face and neck with upward motions. Leave it onto the skin.
It comes in a matt glass jar which is quite heavy and has matt finish silver lid. The packaging is quite classy and cute. And if you can handle with care, then travel friendly too.

Rs. 695/- for 50 gm.
My Views on Iraya Saffron Elixir:
A little wonder in a lovely tub. At Rs. 695/- for 50gms, this is expensive for sure but then, saffron doesn’t come cheap. Neither do the other contents of this elixir. To have goodness of such natural ayurvedic products, which have least artificial chemicals, are purely vegetarian and are not tested on animals, I don’t mind shelling out extra bucks.
This saffron elixir is water based gel and totally oil free and hence suits oily skin so amazingly. I use it twice a day without worries and thankfully, no breakout till today!! I have always wanted to use Kumkumadi but as it is mostly available in form of oil, I was always skeptical to use it. Now that I am getting the contents in gel, how can I not use it.
The gel is orangish in colour and glides on smoothly on skin. The finish is so fine, smooth, soft and perfect matt. In fact, it keeps the skin matt for a longer period of time, even if used beneath other products. It leaves the skin velvety soft.
It may not work for dry skin beauties in a similar way alone and may require mixing up with some more moisturization but it will not fail. The skin surely feels brighter.

– As I earlier said it is expensive for sure but then, saffron and kumkumadi doesn’t come cheap.
Overall Rating: 5/5
I will definitely buy this product again irrespective of price. As there are only a few products which suit my oily skin and this being enriched with so many magical contents, definitely deserves a permanent place in my shelf. I also recommended it to my sister and she is loving it. Not to mention she too has oily acne prone skin 😉 I would say it’s a magical jar which will make your skin healthy inside out and is worth investing 🙂
