My Views on it –

I have 6 pieces of Gorgeous Foundations plus their silicon primer too. the foundations go best with the same range primer. With any other primer, the results are bit cakey, patchy. This foundation is  full coverage and suits normal/ oily skin well. For application, I use either foundation brush or sponge applicator but either way, it spreads and blends smoothly. Pump dispenser is a positive point as it is hygienic and oozes right amount on my palm.

The foundation has a light floral fragrance which is not overpowering. I like the fragrance. This foundation is full of good ingredients and the inclusion of vitamin A & E make it all the more good.

So, the question is, do I like it?

Yes, I LIKE it. But I have mixed feelings for it. Why?

For many reasons. Let’s start and count all these points as PROS of this foundation :).

  1. I like the fact that it is blendable without drying up too fast. I have always loved my Estee Lauder double wear foundation, my fav, but that dries up too quickly and you need to blend in real fast!! No such problem with this and you can take your leisure time.
  2. Great staying power. I mostly use primer first, then this foundation, it lasts for like forever, with little touch ups on T-zone, that too after a long gap. I set my foundation with either my Ben Nye fixing powder or Kryolan fixing powder for that flawless set finish.

  3. I like its fragrance, little fruity like citrus but not overpowering and it goes after sometime. I am sure it won’t bother you.

  4. It works well for my super oily skin most of the time, lasts long, controls oil , causes no breakouts, though not in humid weather. Though, those with dry skin may not find it perfect for them. But then, it can be used with moisturizer and all. A full thumbs up for oily skin though.

  5. Buildable, Medium to heavy coverage. It gives a smooth, satin finish. You can easily layer it to get full coverage or lightly spread it for a clean, sheer finish.

  6. It doesn’t oxidize on me which I face with most of the other foundations.

  7. It is light weight and doesn’t feel heavy on skin even after building up.

  8. It is non-greasy and contains no SPF. Hence, no whitecast and great for photography too.

  9. Good ingredient list. Contains Vitamin A & E and contains no parabens!!

  10. It contains light diffusing pigments to make skin glow.

  11. Great range of shades available.

Basically, I am MAC NC 35 and in this foundation, I get a match by mixing 2C, 2N-BP and sometimes 4W too. Those who want to buy 1 bottle only (oh yes, its expensive), can easily go for a shade like 2C. The shade variety is good and you can easily find your shade :).

Cons –

  • Those having dry skin may find it little dry for them.
  • Availability is an issue in India.
  • It works great for me, say 9 months of the year but in extreme humid months, it causes breakouts.
  • The bottle being black, doesn’t allow you to guess how much product is remaining.

Overall Rating –
I would recommend it to all those who are on a search for build-able, medium to heavy coverage foundations. The finish is fully professional. you can easily mix and match colors. Very few foundations suit my oily skin and don’t even oxidize. Plus, great for flash photography too. You don’t have too many options for all these qualities in a single bottle. Hence, I love my Gorgeous Cosmetics Foundation.
